Your Weekend: See The City's Christmas Lights by Trolley or by Bike

Visit The Burren's craft market, challenge fellow Pokémon players to a trading card game and listen to the stories behind old holiday traditions.

Somerville Arts Council’s Illuminations Tour

This Saturday, hop on one of the 27 trolleys that take residents on the convivial, 45-minute Illuminations Tour of Somerville's Christmas lights. The first will leave City Hall Concourse at 4:30 p.m and return there after the tour ends.

Back at City Hall, there will be coffee, hot chocolate and cookies, as well as choral music and crafts for children.

Trolley Tour tickets will be available at the Blue Cloud Gallery, 713 Broadway, beginning Wednesday, Dec 1.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.

Illuminations Bicycle Tour

If you'd rather see Somerville's Christmas lights by bike, join the Somerville Bicycle Committee and other cyclists this Saturday.

Dress warmly, turn on your own lights and wear festive attire, if you like. The tour will depart the high school at 6:20 p.m. Afterward, there will be hot drinks at City Hall.

There is a $5 suggested donation to the Somerville Arts Council.

The Winter Solstice in Legend and Song

Listen to stories about old holiday traditions accompanied by traditional music and song at Third Life Studio this Saturday, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Tickets are $15.
