SPECIFIC STORE DEALS:
1.) North River Outfitter on Charles Street on Beacon Hill is offering a special deal for the 12 days of Christmas. Example: Last Tuesday you got a free pair of freshwater pearl earrings with the purchase of a women's sweater. --Anna
2.) Brother's Roast Beef in Malden: 2 large cheese pizzas, 1 order of wings and a 2 liter soda for $19.99. -- Kim
3.) Beanstalk Toys in Melrose has great customer service, wrote Maura Donahue. She also recommended the Miter Biter frame shop in Melrose where she bought a library ornament.
4.) LA Burdick, a new gourmet chocolatier in the Back Bay, has some great gift boxes. -- Tammy
5.) Restaurant.com has discounts for local restaurants. Use the code, STOCKINGS, and get a $25 coupon for $2 (make sure you read the rules for each restaurant). -- Diane Lee and Jen (both offered same tip)
6.) Buy the Reading Girl Scouts "Sights of Reading" calendar. It's a gift that last 12 months and it helps the scouts with community service projects. -- Michelle
7.) Go visit the Canolli Guy in Malden Square for great inexpensive homemade treats, wrote Sherri Murray.
8.) CW Price in Somerville has candles for $3.99. A good stocking stuffer. -- Heather Burnside
9.) Check out Sparks in Malden Square. "Nice people, everything from holiday shirts, scarves, womens/mens/kids items, lots of stocking stuffers, very reasonable prices." -- Mary
10.) Phillips 66, corner of Main and Clifton streets in Malden: 1 gallon of 2 percent milk for $2.99 for all of December. --Jen Laughton
11.) Dockside Restaurant in Malden. Buy $25 gift certificates and get a $10 bonus. -- susan mallett
12.) Whole Foods Market: Each register has a keychain ring of coupons. Ask the cashier if they have any coupons for any of the items you're buying. --Sara

13.) Try online sites, Groupon, Buy With Me, Living Social, Yelp Local and Rue La La. They have some great local deals. --Sharon
14.) Before you go to a store, check to see if they have any online coupons. Sometimes you get lucky. -- Torin H
15.) You can save money at museums, restaurants, etc by just showing your Charlie Card http://www.mbta.com/riding_the_t/CharlieCard_Discount_Book/. -- Steve Meuse
16.) Find coupons in the Sunday paper. Example, Near East Rice Pilaf for $1 off. Then look for ads saying "10 for a dollar." That makes it free. "And if you get multiple coupons you will never run out of rice again. LOL." --John Generazzo
