Woman Struck by Car on Mystic Avenue, Taken to Hospital

A 26-year-old Somerville woman received serious injuries in the accident, which happened Wednesday evening.

 

A 26-year-old Somerville woman was struck by a car on Mystic Avenue Wednesday evening and taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries, according to a statement released by the Massachusetts State Police.

The accident happened near 500 Mystic Ave., near the intersection of Shore Drive, at approximately 6:10 p.m.

The woman was struck by a 1998 Nissan Sentra, which was driven by a 32-year-old man from Amesbury, according to the state police statement.

No charges have been filed against the driver at this time, the statement says.

State troppers from the Medford barracks and the Somerville Fire Department responded to the accident. The fire department did not have further information.
