Every year businesses close and open.
In 2012, Somerville saw a few closings.
In terms of restaurants, The Paddock, Lil Vinny's and Spike's Junkyard Dogs were among the year's closures.
Also on the food front, Johnnie's Foodmaster was one of the year's major closings.

I just noticed that the other day! I was sad to see his studio closed. Anyone know why?

From what I heard he is looking for a studio instead of a storefront. Maybe in Somerville.

The city made it very difficult for his business to thrive. The city is so pro bike that it is becoming anti car, which is making Magoun a tough place to do business.

In what way did any bicycle hurt Dan Maher's business? There is not even a bike lane on Medford Street.

Just having a bike lane is stupid. Libroids galore when you have those.

I expected them to close down after I went there when they opened. First problem is the place always looked closed. Something about that glass or whatever gives them a closed look. Second was his menu, he really needed to cator to 2 types of customers and just didn't put tha over. Felt bad for him, he is a noce guy.

KFC(not really). Just for business and tax purposes. I see a sign on the side that says Lotus Express but nothing seems to be happening there.

Lil' Vinny's was a tough loss for me. Thankfully, we had a great business fill the space, but I do miss smelling the food from my house. I also miss Dan Maher, but am happy that he's happy.
