Here's a look at what's open and closed in Somerville on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, 2013.

To commemorate the holiday, check out Somerville's MLK Day observances, which begin at 11 a.m. at Somerville Theatre. Events also include a day of service, where you can give blood and donate to a food drive.

Closed:

  • City offices
  • Schools
  • Libraries
  • Post offices
  • Banks

Open:

  • Supermarkets and convenience stores
  • Retail (at owners' discretion)
  • Restaurants
  • Liquor stores

Trash pickup:

  • Delayed by one day. For example, if your normal pickup day is Tuesday, this week it's Wednesday.
