WEEK AHEAD: Zoning Board Meeting, and a Week of Music

Plus, some community meetings, an aldermen meeting and a Christmas tree sale to benefit local schools

 

Zoning Board of Appeals

The ZBA is scheduled to meet Wednesday. Among other things, the board will discuss the case of the George Dilboy VFW Post in Davis Square, where neighbors are opposed to a planned condo development at the site. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Visiting Nurse Association, 259 Lowell St.

ResiStat meetings

Learn about what's happening in your neighborhood at ResiStat community meetings. The Ward 2 meeting takes place Monday at the Argenziano School cafeteria, 290 Washington St. The Ward 5 meeting takes place Tuesday at the Visiting Nurse Association, 259 Lowell St.

Open mike: jazz, blues, cabaret and cowboy songs

The open mike night starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Center for Arts at the Armory. Sign up to sing at 6:45 p.m.

Beatleness

Sociologist, and Beatles fan, Candy Leonard will give an interactive and fun presentation about Beatlemania. It should interest everyone from die-hard first-generation fans to young people just discovering the group's music. The event is on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Somerville Public Library.

Board of Aldermen

The aldermen meet Thursday at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

Full Circle and Next Wave annual Christmas tree sale

The Christmas tree sale benefits the Full Circle and Next Wave schools in Somerville. The sale takes place all week in Foss Park.

Kiniwe: A performance of Adzogbo

Drumming, singing, dancing, costumes from Ghana. The performance takes place Friday at 8 p.m. at Tufts University's Granoff Music Center.
