Some of the best in Irish contemporary film comes to Somerville this week for the Irish Film Festival, which runs from Thursday through Sunday. In addition to films, there will be some after parties held throughout Davis Square. Check it out. 

10th annual Brian Higgins Foundation trivia night
Are you smarter than a fifth grader? Find out Thursday at the Brian Higgins Foundation trivia night. Proceeds supports the foundation, which helps special needs children and their families. The evening is at Tufts University's Cousens Gym and it begins at 6 p.m.

1st annual Herb Chambers Mite Invitational Tournament

Stop by Orleans Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for a networking event for Somervillians aged 21 to 35, an age group that represents about 42 percent of the city's population.
