Other schools may have bigger cheerleading programs, active Popwarner cheering teams, and recruits that have been training since the lower grades, but Somerville High’s cheerleading team has something else--something that won them national titles in ’03 and ’07. 

What’s their secret? Dedicated cheerleading coaches, including current coach Tara Hurley, and a spirited, hard-working team that trains daily. Meet them all in this video, where we visit the team for a practice and Hurley discusses her love for coaching, as well as the challenges of balancing her work with her personal life.
