Community Path Extension tour
Join Friends of the Community Path for a walking and biking tour of the proposed Community Path Extension. It kicks off Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at East Street and North Point Boulevard in Cambridge, across the street from Lechmere Station. The rain date is Sunday.
Drag Gospel Festival
Ever want to go to a church service in which the celebrants are dressed in drag? This weekend's your chance. Drag queen Serenity Jones will be the liturgist Sunday at First Church Somerville. The church's pastors might also be in drag. Afterward, there's a drag brunch and drag show. To kick off the festival, on Saturday there will be a drag performance at Johnny D's, featuring Serenity Jones and other drag performers. The Saturday performance begins at 4 p.m. Sunday's service and brunch begins at 9:30 a.m.
Home Movie Day
Bring your Super 8, 8 mm, 16 mm, VHS, DVD and digital home movies to SCATV to screen them with members of the community. It's all part of Home Movie Day, which celebrates the importance of home movies. You'll also learn how to care for your home movies so they don't get damaged. It's Saturday at 12 p.m.
Duhamel Education Initiative Supper
The Duhamel Education Initiative's annual pasta and meatball supper is Saturday at 6 p.m. at First Church Somerville. Somerville politicians will do all the cooking.
CONNED: An indie film at Somerville Theatre
This film follows "eccentric and dysfunctional" criminals in the Boston area as they try to fix a huge horse race. It's Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. at Somerville Theatre.
Classic silent film: Phantom of the Opera
View a screening of the classic 1925 silent-film version of Phantom of the Opera, starring Lon Chaney, including live musical accompaniment by Jeff Rapsis. It's at 2 p.m. Sunday at Somerville Theatre.
