Hyper-local craft brew tasting
Craft beer aficionados will have a field day at The Center for Arts at the Armory Saturday at the hyper-local craft brew tasting event. There will be more than 30 small and craft breweries from the Somerville region, including the Somerville Brewing Company, Cambridge Brewing Company, Blue Hills Brewery, Mystic Brewery and Cape Ann Brewing Company, among others. There will also be cordials from local wineries and local food by Kickass Cupcakes, Taza Chocolate, Vermont Smoke and Cure and others. There are two sessions to the tasting event. DePAVE the WAY
Volunteers with Somerville Climate Action will help John Ringeling depave his yard on Saturday. It's part of a series of depraving parties Somerville Climate Action holds during the summer. If you want to join the depraving party, sign up here. Jonathan Richman tribute
Somerville Arts Council pays tribute to Massachusetts rock and roller Jonathan Richman Saturday night at PA's Lounge. There will be 10 acts paying homage to Richman, and the event starts at 8:00 p.m.
Lights and music at Washington Street Art Center
Chris Strunk and Brendan Murray have created a light and music event at the gallery, and there will also be films by Gordon Nelson and tunes by DJ John Twells. It starts 8 p.m. at the Washington Street Art Center.
Open Garden Saturday
The Somerville Community Growing Center is open Saturday for those who want to lend a hand with growing fruits and vegetables, play with their kids or just enjoy the space. It opens at 9 a.m.
Union Square Farmers Market
The farmers market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Union Square Plaza.
Davis Flea open air market
Shop for vintage collectables, clothes and bric-a-brac at Davis Square Flea, a new flea market that takes place Sundays this summer. It takes place at Holland Street and Buena Vista Road from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
