The Somerville Board of Aldermen and Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone honored the Somerville High School girls varsity basketball team and boys varsity hockey team Thursday.

The basketball team reigned as Greater Boston League tri-champions this year, and the hockey team was champion of the Greater Boston League for the first time since 2001.

In addition, Indira Evora, captain of the basketball team, was honored as a four-time GBL all-star and as the sixth Highlander in history—the fourth female—to score 1,000 points.
