Are these not Holiday Trees now?

I think you're right that in some places they're called "holiday" trees, but the Somerville's website says it the "annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony," so I went with "Christmas." (http://www.somervillema.gov/alerts/2012-holiday-events)
The city is also lighting a menorah, and I don't think people would call it a "holiday" menorah, so maybe they're just letting each tradition keep its own name.
Or, maybe the city has been reading Somerville Patch blogger Brian McCarthy (http://somerville.patch.com/blog_posts/merry-christmas-b1370158), whose views are his own and not necessarily the views of Somerville Patch.

I get "Happy Holidays", I don't agree, but I understand. However, only one celebration uses a tree and that is CHRISTMAS. It is a CHRISTMAS tree not a holiday tree. I hope the cities and towns that are lighting "holiday" trees are also lighting a "holiday" display of 8 candles for Channuka
