"It's growing in popularity by leaps and bounds," said Rachel Strutt of the , which organizes the musical festival.

Three example PorchFest acts

Some fun performances this year include Porch-i-oke, a karaoke experience in which people can sing along to live music. (It takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 91 Central St.)

The festival also includes Henry and his Violin, featuring Henry, an 8-year-old boy who will play "dramatic-sounding" classical music. (4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 221 Powder House Blvd.)

Those looking for something a little bigger might want to check out the performances outside Davis Square. There will be a number of live acts and a music yard sale outside the studio. (12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at 363 Highland Ave.)

How to plan your PorchFest visit

With over 100 acts, it's not likely you'll see everything.

Somerville Arts Council has created an interactive map that allows you to see where and when each act is taking place. It also includes links to musician profiles so you can see what sort of music each act plays.

In general, performance times are phased from East Somerville to West Somerville. East Somerville performances take place from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Central Somerville performances are from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and West Somerville performances are from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Strutt recommends a pair of good walking shoes to take in the whole thing. In addition to music, PorchFest serves as a great way to see the city, including its "great old houses with beautiful porches," Strutt said.

At the moment, the weather forecast is predicting a sunny and warm day. The PorchFest rain date is on Sunday.
