Ray Zonghetti to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award from Chamber of Commerce
Zonghetti has helped transform Somerville into a top restaurant and nightlife destination, according to the Somerville Chamber of Commerce.
Ray Zonghetti of Somerville's Zonghetti Consulting, who's also chair of the Somerville Chamber of Commerce's Dining & Nightlife Group, will receive the Chamber of Commerce's John W. Fitzgerald Lifetime Achievement Award, according to an announcement from the business organization.
In an announcement about the award, the Chamber of Commerce said Zonghetti has "helped establish Somerville’s famous, hip, metropolitan-class dining and nightlife scene."

The 2012 recipient of the John W. Fitzgerald Lifetime Achievement Award – named for the founder of Ames Safety Envelope Company, now Ames Business Park, and the first Chair of the Somerville Chamber of Commerce – will be Ray Zonghetti of Zonghetti Consulting. The award will be presented at the Chamber’s 66th Annual Dinner on Wednesday, November 7, at the Holiday Inn.
Ray Zonghetti has been a master chef, expert manager, dining enterprise consultant, and the leading industry advocate. He has also been the executive producer of hundreds of outstanding events to benefit local non-profit charitable organizations. As the Chamber’s Dining & Nightlife Group Chair, Ray has helped set the industry standards for food safety and serve-safe compliance as well as responsible alcohol service and entertainment. For all of us, he has helped establish Somerville’s famous, hip, metropolitan-class dining and nightlife scene. For helping to sustain the Chamber, for making Somerville’s dining and nightlife experience among the very best in the region, and for helping the thousands of people served through his charitable events, Ray Zonghetti will be the 2012 recipient of the John W. Fitzgerald Lifetime Award.

The dinner is the foremost yearly gathering of local business, civic, and community leaders. Telecommunications Insight Group and Bunker Hill Community College are the major sponsors. The reception, sponsored by Federal Realty Investment Trust and East Cambridge Savings Bank, begins at 6:30 p.m., with dinner at 7:30 p.m.. Tickets for Chamber Members are $100 per person, $800 per table of eight guests. Non-members pay $150 per person with $1200 for a table of eight guests.
