Punjabi Grill Bringing Pakistani Food to Davis Square

The restaurant will move into the former Namaskar space on Elm Street.

It looks like Punjabi Grill, a Pakistani restaurant from Framingham, is opening up in Davis Square.

Taped to the window of the storefront formerly occupied by  is a Punjabi Grill-branded copy of a Boston Globe article about the restaurant.

The Somerville Board of Aldermen last week approved a sign and awning permit for the new place.

The Boston Globe article says Punjabi Grill has some of the most authentic Pakistani food in Boston.

Based on the menu, the restaurant serves standard fare, such as chicken tikka masala, but it also features Pakistani specials like Nihari, goat cooked with ginger, and Lahori fish fry, which is fish with ginger, garlic, spices and chickpea flour.
