Somerville Police arrested a Somerville woman Friday in connection to the Oct. 30 robbery of the Citizens Bank in Union Square.
Police arrested Laina Burke, 26, of 8 Everett St., after staking out her apartment and finding stained clothing in her trash, according to a police report. On the day of the robbery, a red dye pack that had been placed in the stolen cash exploded, staining the suspect's clothes, the report says.
Burke's Everett Street apartment is only a few blocks from the Citizens Bank in Union Square.
Immediately after the robbery, police were unable to find the suspect after an initial search of the area, the report says.
According to the report, police received a tip, from a person who wished to remain anonymous, leading to Burke.
Detectives set up surveillance outside her apartment and searched her trash, finding clothes that appeared to be stained with red dye, the report says. They also allegedly found clothing that had been worn during the robbery.
