PHOTOS: Eleven Years Later, Somerville Remembers September 11
The city held its annual candlelight procession to the 9/11 Memorial in Davis Square.
On Sept. 11, 2001, residents of Somerville gathered in Davis Square and lit candles.
"They held each other, they prayed, they sang, they wanted to understand," said Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone Tuesday, speaking 11 years later at the site of a modest 9/11 Memorial that marks the spot where people gathered that day.
Every year, Somerville remembers Sept. 11 with a candlelight procession down the Community Path and a moment of silence at the memorial.
Here are some photos of this year's commemoration.
