Julia Stiles and a movie crew will descend on Charlestown this month. Ryan Cook, a movie business professional who worked on the recent Boston-based Mark Wahlberg hit, “Ted,” told the Charlestown Neighborhood Council Sept. 4 that he will bring Stiles and crew to town on Sept. 12, 13, 24, 25 and 26. — Matt Casey

Magic Factory Owner Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Credit Card Fraud
Harry Levy, the owner of Hank Lee's Magic Factory in Medford, was sentenced to two years in prison on Thursday for committing credit card fraud and misleading investigators. Levy, 61, of Lexington, pleaded guilty in April to making over $560,000 in fraudulent charges to one customer's credit card over a two year span starting in 2009, then lying about the charges to investigators. — Jarret Bencks

The many runners and dog walkers who circulate Jamaica Pond each morning had their routines disrupted by the discovery of a woman's body. Police say they received a call at 7:41 for a body in the water.
