Julia Stiles was in Charlestown Sept. 12 filming a scene for her made-for-TV movie, "The Makeover." Stiles' scene took place in and around Salon Forty-Four at 44 Main Street. The crew also filmed a fake political commercial next to the nearby construction site on Warren Street. The crew will be back in town Sept. 24. — Matt Casey

Alleged Teen Shooter Arraigned on Intent to Murder Charges
The 17-year-old arrested in connection with Monday's shooting of another 17-year-old near Warren Street was arraigned in Malden District Court on Sept. 11, according to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office. Tyrell Berberena, Jr., 17 of Malden, was arraigned on charges of armed assault with intent to murder, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license, according to a press release from the DA's Office. The 17-year-old victim sustained "serious injuries" in the shooting according to the DA's Office. Malden Patch previously reported he was taken to Mass. General Hospital. Berberena allegedly knew the victim and had arranged to meet when the shooting happened, the DA's Office said. — Daniel DeMaina

Police: Two Found Dead on Columbus Avenue, Drug Overdose Suspected
The Boston Police Department reported that two people were found dead near a dumpster behind 599 Columbus Ave. in the South End on Sept. 10. At around 2:47 p.m. police received a call for two bodies lying motionless behind a dumpster at 599 Columbus Ave, near the corner of Massachusetts Avenue. — Sara Jacobi

Former Medford Housing Authority Director Barred from Public Employment
The former executive director of the Medford Housing Authority has been barred from public employment in Massachusetts, according to Attorney General Martha Coakley. Robert Covelle, 59, of Stoneham, resigned from his job at the authority earlier this year following a federal audit that found the authority failed to follow procurement procedures and also handed out projects without putting them out to public bid. — Jarret Bencks

Man Allegedly Shoplifts Ground Beef, Flees in Notorious Minivan
A man allegedly walked into Trader Joe’s at about 4 p.m. Sept. 5, hid 10 packages of frozen ground beef in a hooded sweatshirt and then walked out of the store without paying. The man then entered a well-known vehicle to police, a blue Honda minivan, which has had its plates run 18 times since June by police in Somerville, Cambridge, Malden, Boston, Weymouth and Barnstable, according to police. — John Waller
