Five Things: Music and Business After Hours
Also, what are your thoughts about the MBTA's plans to raise fares and cut services?
1) Live music
On any given night, Somerville is a great place to hear some live music. Tonight, head to PA's Lounge in Union Square to hear Sinnet, Adelyn Rose, Kalispell, and The Skot Veroczi Paradigm. The music starts at 8:30 p.m. Over at Precinct, Strange Machines hits the stage. In Davis Square, check out West African music when Boubacar Diabate & Samba Lolo, from Mali, play at Johnny D's starting at 8 p.m.
2) Chamber of Commerce business after hours
The Somerville Chamber of Commerce is holding its monthly business after hours tonight from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Five Horse Tavern in Davis Square.
3) Planning board meeting
The Somerville Planning Board meets tonight at 6 p.m. at Somerville City Hall.
4) Fare hikes, possible bus eliminations coming to Somerville
The MBTA is in deep financial trouble, and to close a $161 million budget deficit it's proposing a series of fare hikes and service cuts. What do you think of the MBTA's plans? Also, you may want to check out a Boston Magazine series on the MBTA, published last February, that explains why the transportation authority is in such deep doo-doo.
5) Weather
Today will be warmer: mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 30s.
