Lil Vinny's is Closing
The Magoun Square restaurant is shutting its doors after dinner on Saturday night.
Lil Vinny's Ristorante in Magoun Square, which just this summer underwent rennovation and hired a young, Cordon Bleu-trained chef, has announced it's closing at the end of the week.
This is the email sent by Lil Vinny's:
After 11 years of business in Magoun's Square, Lil Vinny's is officially closing after Saturday night, February 11th. We are open during normal business hours the rest of this week and will be open all night on Saturday. Please come in and enjoy while you still can! We want to extend an enormous Thank You to all of our faithful customers throughout the years. The end is bittersweet and we will miss the wonderful people who have made Lil Vinny's such a success.

I live near Magoun Square but never went to Lil Vinny's because I don't eat out much. But does anyone have a hypothesis on why it closed? What should replace it?

Hi Amanda,
They are closing because of financial issues. A Somerville High grad and good friend of mine will be opening a cool, retro restaurant there in the coming months. I think you'll like it!

I'm not sure why it's closing but the food there was always fantastic! The service was always great too. I'm sad to hear they are closing their doors - I'll be trying to get in for one more order of the delicious Ashby.

K-
Such a nice thing of you to say! Their food was great and I'm very sad to see them go. Like I mentioned above, another great place is taking over and I hope to see you up there!

Such a shame, one of the best places for quality Italian food at a great value anywhere
