How to save a life
Prescription drug overdose is a growing problem in the country and it's a problem that has touched Somerville in recent years. The city, along with Save Our Somerville and Teen Empowerment, is running a workshop to teach people how to recognize the signs and symptoms overdosing and how to respond. The workshop is from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Cross Street Senior Center at 165 Broadway.

Internationally known English singers at Johnny D's
Jez Lowe, from the tough northern part of England, sings about the people and culture of that region's mining society, among other things. Steve Tilston, who grew up in the Midlands of England, has been creating songs since the 1970s. They're both at Johnny D's tonight, starting at 8 p.m.
