Franklin Street Fire Causes at Least $40K in Damage
The fire broke out in the bathroom ceiling of a home Wednesday morning.
A Wednesday morning fire at 91 Franklin Street likely caused about $40,000 to $50,000 in damage, according to Somerville Fire Chief Kevin Kelleher.
Firefighters responded to the fire at 7:32 a.m. and weren't cleared until about 9:30 a.m., the fire chief said.
He said the fire broke out in the ceiling of the first floor bathroom, between the first and second floors. As a result, fire companies had to open up the ceiling and floor to get at the fire.
Kelleher said there were no injuries, and he didn't believe any residents were displaced.
