Five Things: Wine, Beer and Jazz

Some things to do in Somerville today.

1) Master Sommelier at Dave's Fresh Pasta
Only a few people on earth—186, according to the group's website—are Master Sommeliers. Damon Ornowski is one of them, and he's at Dave's Fresh Pasta tonight. He'll be leading a tasting session with wines from Austria, Italy and Chile. The tasting is limited to 25 people, and it starts at 7:30 p.m.

2) Jazz concert
Two ensembles and the Tufts choir will be performing works by Thelonious Monk, Smokey Robinson, Billie Holiday and other artists tonight at 8 p.m. at Granoff Music Center at Tufts University.

3) Hop Heads Unite!
Throughout April, Olde Magoune's Saloon is featuring a rotating selection of 10 "hop heavy" beers. If you're looking for a little happy hour break, it might be worth a visit.

4) Board of Aldermen
The Board of Aldermen meet tonight at 7 p.m. at Somerville City Hall.

5) Weather and Red Sox
The Red Sox are off tonight. Their home opener is tomorrow. Scattered showers, highs in the mid 50s and cloudy.
