FIVE THINGS TO KNOW TODAY 5/15: Union Sq. Post Office May Close | Sign Up for ArtBeat | Karaoke and More
A public meeting Thursday will discuss possible closure of the Union Square Post Office. Sign up is under way for ArtBeat 2011. Sing your heart out at Highland Kitchen’s Karaoke night, and more.
As part of a nationwide effort to cut U.S. Postal Service costs, the Union Square Post Office may close. On Thursday, a public meeting to discuss the possible closure will be held at noon at Police Headquarters. A smaller service center would open elsewhere in the square and new uses for the building, which the City hopes to buy, could bring new life (and parking) to the square. Patch will keep you updated.
