Five Things: Special Education Meeting

1) Special Education Meeting
The Somerville Special Education Parent Advisory Council has formed a committee called "Advise the Advisory." It's designed to engage families, students and caregivers who are part of the special education community in Somerville. The group's first meeting is tonight. It's at 6:30 p.m. at the Argenziano School. Call Kimberly Rego at (617) 312-5407 for more information.

2) Lesléa Newman Presents: He Continues To Make A Difference—The Story of Matthew Shepard
Sponsored by Greater Boston PFLAG, Lesléa Newman, an author and poet, speaks in Cambridge. It's at 7 p.m. at the Hill Building Auditorium at Draper Lab in Kendall Square, 555 Technology Square.

3) Relay For Life Team Captain's Meeting
Relay For Life is an American Cancer Society event that celebrates cancer survivors and those lost to cancer. Team captains from Somerville and Medford are meeting tonight at the Medford Elks Lodge, 19 Washington St. at 7:30 p.m.

4) Queer Open Mic
From the listing: "This is a monthly all-gender open mic event for queer/genderqueer/transgender folks and their friends, partners, community, and allies." It's at 7 p.m. at Unity Somerville.

5) Weather
Today will be partly sunny with a high around 23. There's a slight chance of snow in the afternoon.
