Five Things: Open Stage, Somerville's Best, Facebook and Karaoke

Some things to know and do in Somerville today.

1) Wiretap Wednesdays Open Stage
The first Wednesday of every month, local musicians can perform at an open stage at The Center for Arts at the Armory. They'll play a song under five minutes that will be recorded and streamed on the Internet. Afterward, a performer will do a 25-minute set.

2) Somerville's best
Our Somerville Patch Readers' Choice polls are still open. Vote for things like the best bartender, Italian restaurant and nail salon in Somerville. You can vote here.

3) Join us on Facebook
Another way to get Somerville news (and join in the occasional conversation) is to like us on Facebook. You can do that here.

4) Karaoke at Highland Kitchen
Recently named "best karaoke" in Boston by Improper Bostonian, Highland Kitchen's karaoke night takes place Wednesdays at 10 p.m.

5) Weather and Red Sox
The Red Sox play the Tigers tonight at 7:10 p.m. There's a chance of showers and thunderstorms today. Thunderstorms could bring heavy rain.
