1) New CEO at Cambridge Health Alliance
The Cambridge Health Alliance, which operates Somerville Hospital, has chosen a new CEO, according to an announcement from the health system. Patrick Wardell is currently president and CEO of the Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Mich., according to the announcement. He has also served as an executive at St. Mary's Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospital in New York, St. Joseph's Healthcare System in Paterson, N.J. and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. Wardell will replace former CEO Dennis D. Keefe, who left in July, and is expected to begin in March, pending contract negotiations, the announcement says.
2) Green Line meeting
There's a meeting today about early bridge reconstruction, demolition and site preparation for the Green Line extension. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Somerville High School auditorium.
3) Brickbottom Artists Association annual meeting
The artists association meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the association's building, 1 Fitchburg St.
4) Hockey, swimming and indoor track
Somerville High School's boys hockey team plays an away game against North Andover tonight at 8 p.m. The swimming team hits the pool against Cambridge Public Schools, in Cambridge, at 3:30 p.m., and the boys and girls indoor track teams are at a meet in Malden at 3:30 p.m.
