Five Things: Lincoln Park Renovation Meeting, Some Smart Teens

1) Lincoln Park renovations meeting
See a presentation about plans to renovate Lincoln Park, which would include adding a synthetic turf field and the creation of a seasonal ice rink, according to an announcement from the city. The presentation will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Argenziano School.

2) Somerville teens at Tufts University School of Medicine
Jasmine Ngan, 16, and Fatima Khan, 16, are participating this summer in the Teachers and High School Student Program at Tufts University School of Medicine, according to an announcement sent by the university. The program encourages high school students of diverse backgrounds to pursue their interest in biomedical sciences. At an event on Friday, Khan made a presentation titled "Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms" and Ngan presented "The Effects of Storage Conditions on Bloodspot Amino Acids."

3) Eastern Bank, Adrian Gonzalez team up
Red Sox player Adrian Gonzalez and Eastern Bank are running a sweepstakes until Aug. 13. to benefit five youth mentoring programs in the Boston area (none are in Somerville, but Somerville has an Eastern Bank). The winner of the sweepstakes will get $2500, and it's expected to raise about $50,000. Learn more here.

4) Crafts for kids
Take your kids to the Somerville Public Library at 10:30 a.m. for some crafts. Today, kids will make dream catchers.

5) Weather and Red Sox
The Red Sox play the Rangers at Fenway tonight at 7:10 p.m. There's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning, then partly sunny with a high around 87.
