Five Things: Kennedy School Gift Fair

1) Kennedy School gift fair
The Kennedy School's gift fair has items from local vendors, such as pottery, jewelry, pet accessories and more. There will also be "yummy" baked goods. It's at 6 p.m. at the Kennedy School.

2) Parkour for kids
If your kids have been climbing up the walls, now they can receive actual training to help them do it. Parkour classes for kids are at 6 p.m. at the Somerville Schools Parent Information Center.

3) Boston College High School honors
Christien Mendoza Exconde, Jesse Najarro and Alex Santos received high honors at Boston College High School in the first quarter, according to an announcement on Somerville Patch. John Dres received honors, the announcement says.

4) Become a mentor
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay would like to let people know about mentoring opportunities and other ways to support the work of helping young people in the community, according to an announcement on Somerville Patch.

5) Today in history
Today in 1778 Captain James Cook discovered Maui.
