Find out what's happening with extending the Community Path at this monthly meeting. It's at 6 p.m. at the Visiting Nurses Association.
2) Hydrant flushing
The city will be flushing its fire hydrants from Aug. 10 to Aug. 17. According to a constituent services email to residents, "As a result of this work, you may experience a short period of water discoloration. Although the water may be discolored, it is safe to drink. Until the water runs clear, however, you may wish to avoid washing clothes, especially white fabrics. If any rust stains appear on wet laundry, the clothes should not be dried, and you should contact 311 for a free bottle of rust remover."
3) LGBT film night
Join the Council on Aging for "55+ LGBT Film Night." Tonight, see a screening of Brother to Brother, about an elderly black writer who meets a gay teenager at a New York homeless shelter, according to the listing. It's at 6 p.m. at the Council on Aging on Holland Street.
