Five Things: Davis Square Streetscape Meeting

Plus, an announcement from Sen. Jehlen's office about hospice care, pajama story time and a Somerville resident wins an award.

 

1) Davis Square streetscape meeting
There's a public presentation tonight about planned streetscape improvements in Davis Square. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Tufts Administration Building, 167 Holland St.

2) Hospice care for MassHealth recipients 
All Medicaid recipients in Massachusetts who need it will be able to receive hospice care, according to an announcement sent by State Sen. Patricia Jehlen's office. In the recent budget process, the state legislature expanded the ability for all MassHealth recipients to receive hospice care, the announcement says. "Hospice is an important option for terminally ill people. It is both more humane and less costly," Jehlen said in the announcement.

3) Pajama story time
Pack a picnic, put on your pajamas, and bring the family to pajama story time at the Somerville Community Growing Center. It starts at 6:30 p.m.

4) Resident gets an MGH Institute for Health Professionals award
Amy Maguire, of Somerville, recently won the Julie Atwood Award for Excellence at graduation from the MGH Institute of Health Professionals, according to an announcement from the institute. Maguire also received a master's degree in speech-language pathology, according to the announcement.

5) Weather and Red Sox
The Red Sox play the White Sox today at 7:10 p.m. Today will be sunny with a high around 98.
