Five Things: Curtatone Defends Title, Guys and Dolls
Plus, a local energy firm teams up with a real estate company, and tell us your vision for a Davis Square vacancy.
1) Curtatone defends his title on WFNX
Last week, Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone defeated the mayor of Melrose in WFNX's Battle of the Mayors. Today, Curtatone defends his title against Mayor Dan Rizzo of Revere. Each mayor will pick a song, then listeners will vote for their favorite song. Listen to WFNX (101.7 FM) this morning at 9 a.m. to hear Curtatone and Rizzo trade barbs, then vote by calling (781) 595-WFNX (9369), visiting the WFNX Facebook page or texting the word WFNX, plus your favorite song, to 22122.
2) Guys and Dolls
Somerville High School's production of the musical Guys and Dolls opens tonight at 7 p.m. at the high school. The show runs through Saturday.
3) Energy efficient homes
Craig Foley, of Somerville-based inCharge Energy, an energy management firm, is joining the real estate company RE/MAX Heritage to be their chief of energy solutions, according to an announcement sent by Foley. Foley will help real estate agents, buyers and sellers reduce energy consumption, the announcement says.
4) Vacancy Vision
What would you like to see at the old social security building in Davis Square? A hardware store, a grocery store, a new burger joint? That's what we ask in this week's Vacancy Vision.
5) Weather
Partly sunny with highs in the lower 40s.
