Five Things: Cleaning Magoun Square, Meteorologist Bill Evans

Plus, a staged reading by Theatre@First and the Council on Aging seeks vendors for its October fair.

 

1) Magoun Square Cleaning
Help weed and sweep part of Magoun Square, including Henry Hanson Park. After the cleaning, head to Olde Magoun's Saloon for some refreshments, contributed by Greg Coughlin, Olde Magoun's owner. The cleanup is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

2) Meteorologist Bill Evans
The Emmy award-winning meteorologist will be at the Somerville Public Library's central branch to discuss his two latest books, "Blackmail Earth" and "It's Raining Fish and Spiders." The talk starts at 7 p.m.

3) Bare Bones: Staged Readings at Theatre@First
From the listing: "Theatre@First will perform a comedy about modern relationships titled 'Some Girl(s).'" It's at 8 p.m. at Unity Somerville.

4) Council on Aging seeks vendors
The Council on Aging is holding its health and wellness fair on Oct. 25, and it's seeking vendors. Businesses that want a table at the fair or who might be interested in sponsoring lunch or breakfast can call (617) 625-6600, ext. 2300.

5) Weather and Red Sox
The Red Sox play the White Sox tonight at Fenway at 7:10 p.m. Today will be mostly sunny with a high around 85.
