Five Things: Antiques and Pets

1) Antiques for pets
The Barn at 17 is holding a special antiques auction today, and well behaved pets are welcome. They'll receive treats and drinks, and people can get portraits with their "furry friends," according to the listing. Some proceeds from the auction will benefit the MSPCA in Jamaica Plain. The auction starts at 6:30 p.m.
2) Summer reading for your children
Librarians, authors and parents will provide summer reading tips for your 8- to 12-year-old kids. Check it out at the main branch of the library at 7 p.m.
3) Trivia
If you're in the mood for some pub trivia, head to Bull McCabe's at 8 p.m. or Johnny D's at 8:30 p.m.
4) Comedy open mic
Try your hand at standup comedy, and the funniest comic will win a free dinner. The open mic begins at 7 p.m. at Sally O'Brien's.
5) Weather and Red Sox
