Formerly, the intersection was governed by a flashing yellow light for drivers cruising along Powder House Boulevard and a flashing red light and stop sign for drivers on Packard Avenue. Drivers on Powder House Boulevard rarely slowed down for the flashing yellow.

Now it's stop signs and flashing red lights for drivers in all directions, a change that took effect in late March.

Based on personal observation, there's been a heavy police presence at the intersection since the switch, and a handful of cars have been pulled over. Drivers who may be accustomed to driving through the intersection without stopping will want to note the change.
