Boston Militia Play First Playoff Game Saturday, But Not in Somerville

Due to a scheduling conflict at Dilboy Stadium, the Militia will play in Burlington.

The Boston Militia, two-time champions of the Women's Football Alliance, will play their first playoff game of the 2012 season Saturday.

The playoff game will launch their post-season goal of winning a third straight national championship. The Militia went undefeated this year in the regular season.

Though the women's football team usually plays home games at Somerville's Dilboy Stadium, on Saturday they'll be playing in Burlington.

That's beacuse there was a scheduling conflict with the Boston Breakers, a top-flight women's soccer team, who will be playing the Chicago Red Stars at Dilboy on Saturday. Their game starts at 6 p.m.

The Militia's game, against the New York Sharks, starts at 6 p.m. at Burlington High School, 123 Cambridge St. (Route 3A).

According to the Militia's website, "Everyone you see at the Somerville Games will be there: The Boston Militia Minute Men and the Afro Brazilian drumming ensemble Grooversity."

The Militia played the Sharks twice during the regular season, beating them 64-6 in April and 55-12 earlier this month.
