Boston Militia Move on in Playoffs
If the women's football Militia beat the DC Divas on July 7, they'll move onto the semi-final game, likely against the Chicago Force.
Because the Militia went undefeated during their regular season, they earned a first-round bye in the playoffs and moved straight to the June 30 second-round game.
The DC Divas were the Militia's strongest rival during the regular season, playing the two-time national champs to a close 32-25 game on June 9.
The winner of the July 7 game will move onto the semi-finals in the Women's Football Alliance playoffs on July 21. If the Militia get that far, it's likely they'll play the Chicago Force for the opportunity to go to their third straight championship game, which will be held Aug. 4 at Heinze Field in Pittsburgh, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Force also won on June 30, beating the Indy Crash 70-14, according to their website.
Though the Militia normally play home games at Dilboy Stadium, they held their June 30 game against the New York Sharks in Burlington. This was due to a scheduling conflict at Dilboy.
The Militia's July 7 game will start at 6 p.m.
