A Ribbon Cutting for HAIR, Some Good Shopping Tips

And a resident collects food for the homless.

1) HAIR open house
HAIR by Christine & Co., a new venture—Christine is a lifelong Somerville resident—is hosting an open house today. Check it out. The mayor will be there for a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m., and the open house is from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. It's at 587 Somerville Ave.

2) Collecting food for the homeless
Somerville resident Evelyn Yamauchi, a sales associate at Coldwell Banker on Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, led a team that collected about 150 bags of groceries for the Somerville Homeless Coalition, according to an email from Coldwell Banker. Way to go.

3) Shopping tips winner, and a new contest
Medford resident Alicia Hunt won last week's contest about shopping tips. Her entry was about where to get an inexpensive wreath, and she won a $25 gift certificate to Foundry on Elm. Check out the link above to read some of the excellent tips you all sent in. Another shopping tip contest will be announced today.

4) Stump! Pub trivia
Start Monday on the right foot—as you do every Monday—with some pub trivia at Johnny D's. The trivia begins at 8:30 p.m.

5) Weather
Today should be sunny with highs in the mid 40s.

Yay, Christine! Christine has been cutting my hair and my son's since she was at Salon Cu. We've followed her around Somerville and are very happy that she has her own shop now. I highly recommend her!
