A Growing Green Line Petition, The Outsiders Outside
And puppets and another way to get local food.
Green Line extension petition is growing
As of lunchtime yesterday, the city had collected 2355 signatures on its petition calling for a definitive plan for the Green Line extension.
Nappy's Puppets: Shadows Around the World will explore the history and magical quality of shadow puppets, focusing on cultures from around the world. The performance is for kids ages three and up, and it's at the Somerville Public Library East Branch today from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Outsiders outside
We're not being facetious. For the penultimate week of SomerMovie Fest, families can watch The Outsiders outside at Hodgkins-Curtin Park outside Davis Square. The movie will begin around 8:30 p.m., but you may want to get there a bit earlier.
Farmers To You
For those who are into Somerville's local food frenzy, a group called Farmers to You, which works with farms in Vermont and New Hampshire, is hoping to get more members in the Somerville area. Members would be able to order specific fresh produce and farm goods online by Sunday, and they would pick up their orders on Wednesday or Thursday. Better yet, the group plans to work with Somerville's Metro Pedal Power to deliver orders to people's homes and offices. Those interested can learn more at the Farmers to You website.
Weather and Red Sox
Today will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 80s. Late tonight, however, we could be getting some showers and thunderstorms. The Red Sox are away tonight to play the Royals. Josh Becket is scheduled to pitch.
