CitySprouts Festival - Sunday, October 14
On Sunday, October 14, CitySprouts hosted its Festival and second annual Iron-Chef Dip-Off at the Kennedy Longfellow School. Despite the rainy weather, many families and kids attended the event, which provided an opportunity for kids and adults to gain hands-on experience making and tasting local food. CitySprouts interns competed in the Iron-Chef Dip-Off, a cooking contest to create the tastiest and healthiest dip from school garden vegetables. Chipotle Mexican Grill sponsored the event and sold its delicious tacos to raise money for CitySprouts, which is an organization that brings Boston-area public schools education and programming about healthy eating, nutrition and agriculture. There were also hands-on cooking demonstrations and crafts led by kids, for kids at the event.
