Bed Bug Experts to Address CAAS Summit, June 15th
Are you itching for information about how to avoid bed bugs? Bed bug experts from Somerville and around New England will address a Bed Bug Summit, June 15th, sponsored by the Community Action Agency of Somerville (CAAS) in collaboration with the Cambridge Health Alliance.

Speakers at the Bed Bug Summit will include:
- Jonathan Boyer of Ecologic Entomology, the acknowledged bed bug expert in the New England area
- Paulette Renault-Caragianes, Director, City of Somerville Health Department
- George McGrath, Assistant Director of Property Management, Boston Housing Authority
- Carol Bates, OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialist, U.S. Department of Labor
The summit’s agenda will feature presentations on the current problem and the history of the bed bug issue. Professionals will discuss the processes of inspection and extermination. Realtors, rental management companies, lenders, pest control companies, and community organizations will meet in small groups to discuss problems that interest them. The agenda also includes identifying barriers to effective community-wide bed bug control, proposals for next steps in addressing topics, and developing a framework for addressing community needs regarding bed bug treatment and prevention.
The summit is open to the public. Admission to the event is FREE and will include a light breakfast and lunch provided by CAAS.
